Psalms and Praise
In the Great Outdoors

Service Time Change
Kenneth Copeland declared that 2020 would be a year of great change. Boy was he right. Well, change is coming to our season of Psalms and Praise in the Great Outdoors. We are changing the starting time to 9:30. (Prayer remains at 9 am). It’s been hot not only for the congregation but also for those who breakdown after service. So starting a little earlier should give us all a break. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through services in our parking lot.
What a Legacy
We are so blessed to have a place to come together for worship. We have Pastor Blackman to thank for that. What a legacy! He was determined as God lead him and with the support of the congregation to buy property and build our own sanctuary. We did just that. It wasn’t easy but here we are today; we have a place that we call home when so many do not. My heart goes out to them. This is still a very difficult time for the body of Christ. So many churches will not reopen. We have a lot to be thankful for. Let’s keep them in our prayers.
Stay Hydrated
So, bring some water and dress comfortably and join your church family as we lift up the name of Jesus, in the Great Outdoors on Sunday at 9:30.

Moving Forward.

August 4, 2020

What a blessing it was to see everyone on Sunday. For those of you who couldn’t make it, we missed you and look forward to seeing you soon. There was so much Joy and Love present that you couldn’t help but be drawn in.

March 8 was our last Sunday service, so coming together was exciting and much needed. God met us there in the Great Outdoors. He was in the Worship and Word and in the Prayer and Communion. The Love of God washed over us all.

A BIG thank you to the teams who set up and tore down. Remember the Boys and Girls Club (smile)? Thank you to those who directed cars and greeted people as they found a socially distant seat. Guidelines were followed; it was safe to gather. We had canopies for shade and we plan to add more. There was also a hydrating station with plenty of water in case what you brought was not enough. It was a good day!

So join us again for Psalms and Praise in our parking lot, in the Great Outdoors. Invite a friend or neighbor and we’ll see you Sunday at 10 am. Prayer begins at 9.

Fully submitted to God.

Pastor Leah

July 25, 2020

It’s been a long time coming but we are moving forward with reopening on Sunday, August 2 at 10am. We cannot meet inside for worship, so join us as we meet in the Great Outdoors, our parking lot.

We’ve spent a lot of time, energy and resources planning for our indoor worship and with a stroke of the pen that was put on pause by our governor. However, he encouraged the churches to meet outside and that is what we are going to do!

With the guidelines in mind. we’ll have chairs set up socially distanced, canopies for shade and hand sanitizing stations. We’re asking that you come wearing a face covering and because it may be a little warm, please dress comfortably and bring water for hydration.

We won’t be long, but we will be long enough to let heaven know how thankful and grateful we are for God’s Goodness and Grace and the blessing that is on our lives.

Share this information and I will see you on August 2nd at 10am.

Following His Lead,

Pastor Leah

June 12, 2020

His Praise Shall Continually Be On My Lips! I am so grateful and thankful for God’s Word which has kept me grounded. God has been faithful and trustworthy. He has not failed us. God has been with us through weeks and weeks of uncertainty concerning the virus and several days of unrest in light of the protests and violence...we are still standing, we are still blessed. We were blessed going in to the season of the virus and yes! we are blessed coming out! Hallelujah, I’m excited just typing this. The weapon didn’t prosper and we are victorious once again. We just can’t stop winning. Our God is Good.

I can go on and on with praise for The Lord but I’ll restrain myself. As we see the country beginning to reopen, I’m sure you’re wondering when Faith Worship Center is going to reopen. The answer, soon. We are waiting on Contra Costa County Health Services to give us the green light. In the meantime, there are guidelines that we have to follow in order to open. We have begun that process. Please look for another email next week containing a brief survey regarding the church re-opening.

Let’s continue to trust God in the waiting. We can’t lose!

PENTACOST SUNDAY

May 31, 2020

It’s Pentecost Sunday! The Power fell over 2000 years ago, as Jesus said He would and God’s power, the Holy Spirit, is still very present today. Hallelujah! God was faithful then and He’s faithful now.

We’ve missed celebrating special days together, like Easter, Mother’s Day and Graduations. Over the Memorial Day weekend Faith Worship Center moved into its 31st year of ministry. Praise God. Covid-19 may have altered how we come together but it hasn’t stopped what brings us together. We press on!

Over the weeks we’ve learned a lot about endurance and patience. We’ve learned we are capable and able to do the difficult thing knowing that God is with us and for us. Fear has been replaced with Faith. Victory in EVERY situation is truly ours if we don’t quit. We keep pushing forward, advancing and fighting off every attack of the enemy. Let God work this together for our good. For some, you have experienced a loss during this time and my heart goes out to you and your family. Others had to overcome some very difficult financial challenges, and relationships have been tried. In every situation you overcame it; you did not allow it to destroy you! That’s a Victory!!

We continue to declare God’s Word over every attack and trap that the enemy sets to steal, kill and destroy us (No Weapon Formed Against Us Will Prosper. . .). We declare that our family and loved ones are Healthy, Healed and Whole. If you’re feeling a little weak because you’re in a tough battle, reach out for some help. Please call, Zoom, Voice Memo or text a brother or sister and let them know that you can use some help in the battle you are fighting. There is no shame in that! God gets the glory and you receive the reward. Hallelujah!

I sense we will be opening for service soon. I don’t have a date because I am waiting on a green light from our Contra Costa County Health Department who sets the guidelines for reopening. However, in anticipation of the good news, I have recently met with our “Reopening Team” to discuss what that looks like for the church and the safety guidelines that will have to be in place prior to reopening. So, continue to pray for our rulers and governing authorities, that they are open to Godly counsel, reasonable advice and that God would order their steps and guide their thoughts.

May God continue to keep you and provide for you. We’ll be together soon.

March 12, 2020

Dear FWCM Family,

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy place of worship for our congregation.  As such, we are closely monitoring the reports surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus.  However, I want to remind you first and foremost that God is still on the throne and is in control.  As people of faith and believers in the true and living God, we want to use wisdom and exercise FAITH over fear.  The Word tells us that “God has not given me (us) a spirit of timidity and fear.  He has given me (us) a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind, discipline and self-control.” (2Timothy 1:7 amp).

As of this writing, we plan to hold both of our worship services this Sunday including, and most especially, intercessory prayer beginning at 7:15 am.  We do so while encouraging everyone to follow the guidelines issued by Contra Costa Health Services to help prevent the spread of viruses, the common cold, and flu.

With those guidelines in mind, the ministry has intensified and increased the level of attention to clean and disinfect the church with special emphasis on major touch points such as door handles, counter tops and the children’s department.  Additionally, the following changes are effective immediately for our worship services:

  • Meet and greet will still occur, but please wave, smile or nod to greet one another.
  • Café le Faith will only serve coffee and tea (for now) in between services.
  • Offering buckets will not be passed.  Contributions can be made online, placed in the baskets on the platform or in the agape box in the lobby.
  • Hand sanitizer has been placed on the Information Counter, in the Youth Room, Children’s Department and the Family Life Center.

Out of an abundance of concern, we ask that if you, your child(ren) or any other family members are sick or have interacted with someone who is sick, please stay home.  Services will be live streamed via our Facebook page.

Please check your email and the FWCM webpage and Facebook often as we will provide updates as warranted regarding our services.  Additional resources and information is available from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), Contra Costa Health Services, the state and the City of Pittsburg

Lastly and most importantly, beyond all that you will do to be physically safe and healthy, please be even more vigilant spiritually.  Dwell in the secret place (Psalm 91), build yourself up on your most holy faith (Jude 1:20), let not your heart be troubled (John 14:1), and know that we are overcomers and have the victory (1John 5:4)!
